Today's family activity: APPLE PICKING!
I'm sure it's no secret that autumn is my favorite time of year. And going apple picking with the hubby and kids is absolutely my favorite fall activity. It's quality time with them outside in the crisp, clean air. We all love it. And the hubby, who was a photojournalist for over ten years, gets to bring all his camera gear and record the event with his lens to his heart's content. Although, if I recall right, I immortalized him hanging not-so-gracefully from a very high tree branch last year in a rather good photo, if I do say so myself. Definitely one for the family yearbook. ;-)
And in case any of you are wondering, yes I will be making an apple pie from scratch this afternoon. It's fresh apples, y'all. How could I not?
Patience. Such a simple word, but such a hard deed to do sometimes. It's something that I'm really striving for today. My youngest is going through another bout of teething, I'm feeling run down and fighting a cold--AND my toddler has recently discovered the world of ghosts and monsters under her bed.
I'm not getting sleep. It's that time of the month. And my book is due in less than two weeks. Argh!!
SO, today I'm going to practice the art of patience. I'm not sure how well I'm going to do, but I plan on giving it my best. As a working writer mom there's always a juggle and dance between motherhood and work. For the most part I'm used to that. But, some days I really need the universe to be kind and help me out with the work side of things.
And if all else fails, I have chocolate chips in the house. I'll bake cookies.

It's finally alive! Who knew this whole technological computer stuff could be so complicated? Man! Needless to say, I'm a complete tech failure, but I'm finally here! About as sure of myself as a baby giraffe trying out those spindly little legs--but HERE (and bound to change often until I get it right)!
So, have a look around and then tell me what y'all think. Oh, and thanks for the patience.
All the best,
